After enduring almost an entire month of record rainfall, one thing is certain. The parks are a bit, muddy. So of course you know there always has to be at least one trouble maker who looks at mud as a warm, cuddly blanket. A blanket to be rolled in and played with and embraced like an old friend. Today, that trouble maker was an Australian Shepard named, Zeke. Oh well, he gets a pass for cuteness so long as he isn't riding in MY car.

Tobias
Tobias is an awesome little three month old Boston Terrier. He was such a fast mover that this was the only picture of seven that caught him in focus. I love Boston Terriers personally and this little Tobias was just adorable!

The Great LUX
I stopped in my tracks when I spotted this enormous mountain of beautiful white mountain of soft snuggles. His name was Lux and he is a two and a half year old Great Pyrenees. Right after I took his picture, he sat in front of me and gave me his paw.
"We never taught him that. He just started doing it on his own."
All I know is that I am need of a new soft mattress and I think Lux just might be the answer.

Memorial Day
On this Memorial Day, we honor the soldiers who have fallen and paid the ultimate price so that we can enjoy our current way of life. But let us also remember, dogs can be Veterans, too. Let us also remember THEIR sacrifice. I did not shoot any of these pics but they all touch my heart and evoke feelings that my words just can't describe.
Woodrow
I met Woodrow at a bizarre/beer factory event. He is a beautiful puppy that is mixed with Hound Dog and Catahoula. His eyes are mesmerizing. Such a gentle disposition. Once again, I find myself wanting to take all of these dogs home with me.

Dirk
This is Dirk. Dirk wants a bone. But Dirk can't have a bone because when he chews on one, he suddenly turns into a dogzilla and will snap at anyone who comes within ten feet. But look at that sad little face. And yes...Dirk got a bone. I'm a weakling.
Waiting...
Its hard to work in the Spring time in Texas. More often than not, storms and rain can show up at any time without any notice. On those days, all you can do is wait them out. This is Rusty doing exactly that.
First Timer
This was Koda's first trip to the dog park. I was lucky to get this shot as he was so amazed with the sights and sounds and scents to be explored that he could barely keep his cute little head still for a pic. What a sweetie! The last I saw him, he was running with several other dogs and having a blast!

Tennis Balls are Awsome
Unfortunately, I didn't get this particular doggy's name but I did manage a cute capture. I love this image and just wanted to share it here.
Simple Pleasures
Sometimes, life is all about the little things. The little pleasures that make life just a little more enjoyable. One of my favorite things about the dog park I go to to shoot most of my images is the smaller dog fountains so that after a day of running in the sun and making friends, they can enjoy the simple pleasure of of getting a cool drink of fresh water. Pictured is FISHER partaking in that very pleasure. Not pictured is me wishing I could have done the same thing. The human fountain wasn't working on this particular day. lol

Oh to be a Dog!
I remember the days when I could walk into the woods, strip out of my clothes and go for a swim in the pond. I didn't worry about snakes. I didn't worry about disease carrying mosquitoes. I didn't worry about whether there was lightning flashing in the skies. All I worried about was how fun it was to swim and splash in the water and laugh with friends. Now, as an adult, the worries outweigh the benefits so its nice to live vicariously through our dogs who still believe the fun of splashing in the water rules out every other concern one may have in life.
Grass on the belly
Sometimes, after a hard day of running, panting, and making friends, you just have to stretch out and enjoy the feel of grass on your belly. Pictured is Dyson, doing exactly that.

Brooklyn
Meet Brooklyn. He obviously hates the camera. lol He and his two housemates, Jersey and Bronx-can you guess where their human is from?-were out enjoying the sun and the water of the park. This gentle giant hopped up on the concrete bench and sat there as if posing just for me. Although he was likely just letting the sun dry his fur but I'll stick with the notion that he was posing for me. I didn't get the name of the human in the picture. Maybe next time.
COCO
Little COCO is an adorable little Min Pin who was out enjoying the day at the park with her human. Every time she actually sat still enough for a picture, she would look at me for about a second and then jump up, charge forward and give me kisses. Such a sweet little girl.

What Am I?
Me: So what kind of dog is he?
Human: I really don't know. I got him from a shelter and I'm actually thinking about getting one of those dog DNA tests just to see what he is.
Me: Well I can see Maury standing in the shelter and saying, " You are NOT the father! " lol
Bear was an energetic little shaggy ball of sweetness. It doesn't really matter what his DNA is, he is ALL DOG. And sometimes, that is really all that matters.

Friends?
"Come here! Hey! You! Husky Dog! Come Here! Look at me! no! At ME! sigh Its very hard being a dog photographer. lol But I am loving what I do and wouldn't have it any other way. Pictured is Koda and...well...me. Or at least my hand, anyway.
Fun Day
In my neck of the woods-Texas- its been raining for almost two weeks solid. But today, the sun came out and allowed the dogs to play. And their Humans as well. Everyone seemed in great moods which is good because the storms are coming back in tonight. But at least we all got a little break, anyway. Pictured is Jersey Girl (Husky) and Stella (Boxer).

Random Cuteness
Scenes like this make me giggle. I know this little girl is going to grow up and be an awesome human being...that eats ALPO for dinner. lol
Vicious Pitt Bull
Beware! We have all heard the warnings about how vicious Pitt Bulls need to be banned and go the way of the dinosaur. Personally, I think that paranoia is media driven and a bit ridiculous. Yes, there are some Pitt Bulls that have been raised to be vicious. Yes, Pitt Bulls have been involved in attacks. The tragedy is that all we hear about are the bad Pitt Bulls. Just like we only hear about the planes that crash. Yet there are over two thousand planes that fly every single day. We never hear about those. Just like we never hear about the Pit Bulls that are gentle and loving and loyal. Please keep everything you hear in its proper perspective and remember, Pitt Bulls can wear tutus and look darn adorable doing it. Pictured is Indie visiting the Dallas Dog Expo on Saturday at the Dallas Market Hall. The only attack she performed was the casual slinging of doggy slobber and lubbins.

Dallas Dog Expo 2015
I recently attended the annual Dog Expo at Market Center just outside of Downtown Dallas. Unfortunately, I had to work at my real job that day so I was only able to catch about the last two hours of the event. But even as it was winding down, there was tons of stuff to see and that two hours was fun and filled with smiles. Here are some of my favorite images from the event.

Mothers Day
As this Mothers Day draws to a close, I would like to remind all new mothers out there of the proper use for Baby Strollers. That is all. Happy Mothers Day!

Welcome Home!
I went to the annual Dog Expot in Dallas today. I saw tons of adorable pooches on display from Hound dogs dressed like Elvis to dogs trained to stand motionless on fire hydrants. I also saw a vast number of dog tricks, agility contests, dog dancing, costumes and tons of dog-related vendors selling everything from portraits to Doggy Breath Spray. But the best thing I saw the entire time I was there was this sweet puppy posing with the woman who had just adopted her. Thank you, Lucienda, for adopting Jazzie. I wish you both a wonderful new life together!

Hades
Every once in awhile, you see that one particular little dog that really just stands out. For me, at least this week, was a young Pitt Bull named Hades. He was simply adorable, playful, energetic and friendly as he can be. Sometimes, I really just want to take some of these pups home with me and just spoil them rotten.
Group Shot!
Okay, everyone hold still. Look at the camera. Smile! No! I said, hold still. Hey! Look here! HEY!!!! Come Back!
Elly or Elliot?
This pretty girl's Humans tell me that her name is Elliot and that Elliot IS a girl's name. I'm not so sure about that. I might have to do some checking. lol But until then, Elly or Elliot was a very sweet girl taking full advantage of the dog park's swimming pond. Considering the humidity levels of the day, I have to admit being jealous. I sure wish I could have swam with her but no Humans are allowed. Oh to be a dog!

Beauty
Unfortunately, I lost my pen on the way to the park tonight. Note to self: download notepad on my phone. But anyhoo, my memory is terrible which means I can't remember this beautiful dog's name. Hopefully the owner will see this and include it in the comments for us.

5-6-15 Little Beggar
This is little Bella hanging out and making friends at the dog park. She was constantly going back and forth between various humans and other dogs. No shame in her game. She liked everyone-two legs or four. Especially if they just happened to be holding something she wanted to "sample".
